The City of Saratoga Springs is seeking professional engineering and surveying services to perform a traffic assessment, aerial survey, truck turning template, and other tasks to support the development of an alternate truck route traffic study. The study aims to remove existing truck traffic from the interior portions of the city and direct it to the periphery, improving safety, mobility, and quality of life for residents, visitors, and businesses. The selected consultant will be responsible for identifying stakeholders, reviewing existing roadway designations, performing aerial imagery and truck turning templates, and developing a fee schedule. The project is expected to be completed in Spring of 2026, with key milestones in January, February, and April 2026.
• The City has identified a conceptual truck plan that utilizes mostly established truck routes and access highways to remove the existing traffic from the interior portions of the City.
• The plan will direct through-traffic onto routes that are better designed and maintained for large vehicles, improving travel efficiency, reducing travel times, and minimizing driver confusion.
• The consultant will be required to provide a fee schedule broken down by project tasks, including hourly rates and estimated total number of work hours committed to the project.
• The consultant will also be required to provide references, staff qualifications, and insurance certificates.
• The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities, and to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, or conditional bid documents.
