Design Services for Veterans Memorial Blvd. Phase II

The Collier County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a consultant to provide design services for the Veterans Memorial Boulevard Phase II project. The project involves designing a 1.23-mile extension of Veterans Memorial Boulevard, including a four-lane urban divided arterial with on-street bike lanes and sidewalks. The consultant will be responsible for preparing a complete set of construction contract documents, including plans, specifications, and engineering analysis. The project requires coordination with various stakeholders, including the County's Traffic Operations Section, the Florida Department of Transportation, and utility companies. Some of the key tasks include: • Designing the roadway geometry and alignment • Preparing a typical section package and pavement design package • Coordinating with utility companies to identify and relocate existing utilities • Obtaining environmental permits and approvals • Preparing construction documents and specifications • Providing construction administration services The consultant should have experience in transportation design, traffic engineering, and construction administration. They should also be familiar with the Florida Department of Transportation's design standards and policies. • The project is expected to commence in 2027 and be completed in approximately 12-18 months. • The consultant will be required to attend meetings with the County's project manager and other stakeholders. • The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with the contract documents and applicable laws and regulations.
