Description
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 AmeriCorps Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service funding opportunity is designed to mobilize Americans to observe the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday as a day of service in communities. The goal is to encourage those who serve on this holiday to make a long-term commitment to community service and to bring people together to focus on service to others and help address community issues.
• Providing service opportunities that support and/or facilitate access to services and resources for economically disadvantaged people and communities.
• Providing service opportunities that meet an immediate community need.
• Training volunteers who make a commitment for future or ongoing service.
• Aligning with evidence-based volunteer engagement practices.
