Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a tunable laser system with a reference wavemeter for wavelength scanning and locking. The system must meet specific technical specifications, including a continuous lasing output, a coarse wavelength tuning range of 861 nanometers ± 10 nanometers or broader, and a fiber-coupled output power of at least 25 milliwatts. The contractor shall deliver one tunable laser system with a 12-month warranty.
Key features of the required system include:
• A continuous lasing output
• A coarse wavelength tuning range of 861 nanometers ± 10 nanometers or broader
• A fiber-coupled output power of at least 25 milliwatts
• An optical linewidth of 100 kilohertz or less
• A mode-hop-free tuning range of at least 30 gigahertz
• A wavelength measurement capability with 5 megahertz or better resolution
• The ability to lock the laser source to a user-set fixed wavelength referenced to the wavelength measurement
• Communications ports (USB, TCPIP, or similar) for communicating with an experimental control computer
