Unidirectional Hydrant Flushing and Repair

The U.S. Army is seeking a contractor to perform unidirectional hydrant flushing and repair services at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). The contractor will be responsible for locating, inspecting, assessing, and operating distribution system valves and hydrants, as well as creating a deliverable GIS format suitable for APG's current GIS/Database system. The contractor will also be required to perform annual maintenance and repairs, including backflow device repairs and recertification. • The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform the work. • The contractor must adhere to the AWWA M-44 manual for inspection and operation of main line valves. • The contractor must provide a Standard Operating Procedure for valve operations and pressure readings during the flushing process. • The contractor must notify customers and develop a letter and press release to explain the Unidirectional Water Main Flushing program.
