Wheel and Tire Containers Sources Sought

The US Air Force is seeking sources of companies capable of providing wheel and tire containers for the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, UK. The containers must meet specific requirements, including compatibility with the 463L pallet system and adherence to MIL-STD-1791. The containers will be used to transport aircraft wheels and tires, and the contractor must provide detailed drawings, testing and inspection, and packaging and delivery. The key features of the containers include rapid deployment capabilities, enhanced protection and security, ergonomic design and safety, optimized space utilization, forklift accessibility, and modular and scalable design. Some of the key requirements include: • Compatibility with the 463L pallet system • Adherence to MIL-STD-1791 • Ability to transport four main tires and two nose tires for the C-130 aircraft • Ability to transport KC-135 main landing gear tires • Incorporation of tie-down rings and forklift tubes • Collapse to a compact height for storage when not in use
