RFI - Science Partnership

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is seeking consultants, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to provide support in strengthening the implementation of Next Generation Standards (NGSS)-aligned instruction in science. The selected partner will work with the Division of Instruction (DOI) Science team to deepen coherence with the Instructional Core and accelerate high-quality, standards-aligned science learning across LAUSD. Responsibilities include instructional coaching and leadership support, program implementation and continuous improvement, professional learning and capacity building, and collaboration and advisory support. Interested organizations should respond with a letter of interest that includes a brief introduction of their capabilities and a confirmed point of contact for future correspondence. • Provide strategic guidance on effective school-level implementation of science instruction • Support central office in the understanding of high-quality, standards-aligned science practices • Share insights from school leadership experience to inform systemwide improvement efforts • Collaborate with the instructional team to refine tools, resources, and support for schools • Participate in planning meetings to align science initiatives with district priorities • Help identify promising practices and potential barriers to implementation • Support the design and facilitation of professional learning for leaders and teachers as needed • Contribute to training materials, presentations, or resources that advance science instruction • Provide feedback on districtwide science initiatives from a school leader perspective • Serve as a thought partner to the Science team on strategy, coherence, and impact • Offer recommendations for strengthening instructional alignment and equity in science
