The Santa Monica‑Malibu Unified School District is seeking a qualified firm to serve as the Deputy Inspection Lab of Record (LOR) for two simultaneous school construction projects on the Samohi campus: the new Phase 4A Student Services Building (≈ $74.5 M) and the PBL Language Building improvements (≈ $3.5 M). The LOR will act as the Division of the State Architect’s Lab of Record, providing all required field and laboratory testing, special inspections, documentation, and final compliance certifications throughout design, construction, and close‑out phases. The contract will run from the start of construction (May‑June 2026) through final close‑out (approximately late 2028), with a not‑to‑exceed fee to be negotiated. • Provide DSA‑certified special inspectors and testing technicians for concrete, steel, masonry, soils, asphalt, fireproofing, moisture, and related disciplines. • Produce daily/weekly inspection reports, chain‑of‑custody documentation, DSA‑103 test reports, and final compliance certifications. • Coordinate with the Project Inspector, contractors, design team, and District staff; attend required meetings; support dispute resolution and forensic testing as needed. • Must demonstrate experience on at least two comparable K‑12 school construction projects in California within the past five years and comply with the March 2 2017 Project Labor Agreement and all prevailing‑wage requirements.
