Construction Management at Risk Services: Switchgear and Electrical Distribution System Replacement at CCBC Essex

The Community College of Baltimore County is seeking a construction management at risk services provider for the Switchgear and Electrical Distribution System Replacement project at the CCBC Essex campus. The project involves replacing the medium voltage switchgear, distribution conductors, medium voltage transformers, and building main distribution equipment. The selected firm will provide construction management at risk services throughout the duration of the project, including preconstruction, construction, and project close-out phases. The scope of work includes management, administration, preconstruction services, construction management, and other tasks. The project is expected to last 48 months, with a tentative milestone schedule provided in the RFP. Key aspects of the project include: • Replacement of primary service entrance and metering switchgear • Design of a new switchgear building • Replacement and re-routing of the "Golden Ring" Utility feeder • Extension of the existing "Fullerton" Utility feeder • Design of new medium voltage campus feeders • Phasing plan to minimize outages of electrical power to buildings • Remediation of issues with existing manholes and handholes • Replacement of existing campus medium voltage transformers and transformer secondary conductors • Provision of additional transformers and secondary feeders as required • Demolition of existing transformer and pad-mounted switchboard • Replacement with new distribution equipment • Architectural and mechanical/plumbing modifications as required • Provision of new data cabling as needed • Replacement of existing site lighting fixtures, poles, foundations, and feeders • Landscape architectural design to restore existing campus planting
