Scrap Tire Collection, Removal and Processing Services

The City of Winston-Salem is seeking letters of interest for the operation of a scrap tire collection center to provide citizens of Forsyth County with scrap tire recycling and disposal services. The contractor will be responsible for collecting, transporting, and processing scrap tires in accordance with applicable regulations. The services include labor to load tires into closed-top trailers, transportation to a permitted facility, and processing of tires. The contractor must demonstrate experience in providing similar services within North Carolina and comply with environmental regulations. • The collection center will be located at the Hanes Mill Road Landfill and other select locations within Forsyth County. • The contractor must provide up to 4 trailers at all times and physical labor to load the tires. • The average quantity of scrap tires accepted ranges from 6000 to 7000 tons annually. • The contractor is responsible for identifying management options for each type of tire accepted and obtaining required permits. • Technical assistance, customer service, and public relations messaging will be required to assist the public in determining disposal methods for various waste types.
