Rio Blanco County General Attorney

Rio Blanco County, Colorado is seeking proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms to provide general legal counsel and representation to the Board of County Commissioners, elected officials, and County departments. The selected attorney will be expected to advise on civil and regulatory matters, draft contracts and ordinances, represent the County in legal proceedings, and attend Board meetings as requested. The ideal candidate will have an active Colorado law license and a minimum of five years' experience in public or local government law. Proposals must include a cover letter, overview of the firm or individual, description of approach to service delivery, fee structure, and references. The evaluation criteria will include experience with local government law, approach and responsiveness, cost proposal, references, and overall fit. • The County Attorney serves as the chief legal counsel to the County government, providing advice, drafting, and representation in all legal matters. • The attorney will be expected to attend in person at least one regular Board of County Commissioners meeting per month and may be required to attend special meetings in person as scheduled. • The term of the contract will be one year with annual renewal options. • The proposal must be submitted through BidNet Direct.
