Description
The City of Ashland is seeking qualified firms to provide special inspections, materials testing, and geotechnical engineering services for the design‑build construction of a 21,250 sf climate‑controlled vehicle‑storage facility for Ashland Public Transit. The work includes oversight of earthwork, foundation, concrete, pavement, and structural steel activities, with required testing, reporting, and immediate defect notification. The procurement follows a qualifications‑based process; only the technically‑selected firm will be asked to submit a cost proposal, leading to a negotiated not‑to‑exceed contract.
• Conduct special inspections and material testing (soil, concrete, aggregate, steel) throughout construction phases.
• Provide geotechnical engineering services, including sub‑grade verification, fill compaction, and foundation monitoring.
• Deliver daily and final inspection reports, laboratory test results, and certification to the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
• Meet Federal Transit Administration (FTA) clauses (Buy America, DBE, Prompt Payment, etc.) and retain records for at least three years.
• Must be licensed in Ohio, hold relevant certifications (e.g., ASTM, ACI), and carry required performance and payment bonds.
