One-Two SentencesThe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill issoliciting submittals from firms interested in providingdesign services for switch gear upgrades to enhance theUniversity's ability to manage unplanned electricaldistribution outages amongst Cameron Avenue, Manning, andSouth stations. This upgrade will allow the University torestore power more quickly and improve the resiliency acrossa growing campus.The project includes design of new ductbank totallingapproximately 16,500 feet, along with switchgear and smartprotective relays that communicate with the ElectricalDistribution Systems SCADA system.The project will also replace two General Electric 15 kVPowervac Vacuum Switchgears with two Arc Flash Resistant, 15kV, 3000 Amp continuous, and 40 kA interrupting ratingSwitchgears located at the Cameron Substation.
