MOTSU Bat Survey 2026

Auburn University is seeking a service provider to conduct acoustic bat surveys at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point (MOTSU) in North Carolina. The survey aims to determine the presence/absence and relative activity of bat species, including the federally protected northern long-eared bat and tricolored bat. The service provider will be responsible for developing a survey plan, conducting acoustic surveys, and providing a final report with recommendations for future habitat management and consultation with the USFWS. The contract period is from April 1, 2026, to February 26, 2027. • The service provider must have experience in designing and implementing acoustic and mist net surveys for bats. • The service provider must have all necessary federal permits to passively survey and handle threatened and endangered bat species. • The service provider will be required to provide a draft report and a final report, including all relevant data, maps, photographs, and GPS locations collected during the survey. • The service provider will be required to provide a file geodatabase compatible with the current version of ArcGIS Pro. • The service provider will be required to provide a series of maps, including a proximity map, project area/base map, topographic map, and habitat maps.
