Description

The State of South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services seeks a qualified provider to perform forensic psychological evaluations of inmates who are candidates for parole. The contractor will conduct a minimum 50‑minute interview, administer standardized personality inventories (MMPI or PAI), review correctional files, coordinate with SCDC staff, and deliver a signed written report within 20 days of referral. Service coverage spans three geographic regions (Appalachian, Coastal, Midlands) across multiple SCDC facilities, with an estimated 60 evaluations over a five‑year contract period. Payment is fixed‑price per evaluation ($680) with optional 30‑minute feedback sessions ($200). The solicitation requires a South Carolina clinical psychologist license, appropriate liability insurance, and electronic bid submission via the state procurement portal.

Budget estimate

$40,000 – $70,000

The solicitation caps each full psychological evaluation at $680 and each optional 30‑minute feedback session at $200. Assuming the estimated 60 evaluations over the contract’s life (≈12 per year) and that roughly half will include a feedback session, total compensation would range from 60 × $680 = $40,800 (minimum) to 60 × ($680 + $200) = $52,800. Adding potential inflation adjustments, travel reimbursements, and ancillary services could push the high end toward $70,000. Therefore a reasonable ballpark for the five‑year contract is $40‑70 k.
