The Maryland Insurance Administration is seeking a contractor to provide transcription services for audio recordings of hearings and investigative interviews. The contractor will be responsible for providing verbatim transcripts of the recordings, including all spoken testimony, arguments, comments, instructions, objections, and other verbal statements. The contract will be for a period of five years with no option to renew. The contractor must have experience providing transcription services in an administrative hearing setting or with the Maryland courts, sworn investigative interviews, and/or similar legal proceedings. The contractor must also ensure that all employees or subcontractors used to provide transcription services are certified by the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers, the International Alliance of Professional Reporters and Transcribers, or the Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals. Some key responsibilities of the contractor include:
• Preparing and providing accurate and complete verbatim transcripts in a PDF or Microsoft Word 2010 or later format
• Ensuring that transcripts are free of misspelled words, omitted words, typographical errors, and other similar errors
• Providing corrected pages to the MIA the next business day after notification of errors, at the contractor's expense
• Furnishing additional copies of a transcript at the request of an outside party, including any State agency, at the "Per Page" price contained in the contract.
