Description

The Transforming Pediatrics for Early Childhood (TPEC) Program aims to advance the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' priorities by preventing chronic disease early in life and promoting healthy development in early childhood. TPEC recipients will place early childhood development experts in local pediatric practices to deliver team-based care to young children and their families. The program focuses on factors critical to child development, such as screening families for their needs, building safe relationships, educating caregivers, and ensuring access to referrals and support. • The program will improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of pediatric primary care. • Recipients will deliver high-quality early childhood development services using a team-based approach. • The program will result in measurable improvements in service delivery rates and early childhood development outcomes.
