Description
The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a natural gas supplier to provide full requirements on small accounts for the University System of Maryland and the Department of General Services. The contract term will commence on the first meter read after January 1, 2026, and will terminate 24, 36, 48, or 60 months after commencement, unless terminated sooner. The successful contractor will be responsible for providing natural gas to all firm accounts listed in the RFP, managing nominations and balancing, and ensuring that the university is not penalized for over- or under-deliveries.
* Key requirements include:
* Being a licensed natural gas supplier in Maryland
* Having a minimum senior unsecured debt rating of "BBB" from Standard & Poor's or Baa3 from Moody's
* Providing a detailed company profile, including annual business volume and current workload
* Having experience in providing natural gas to retail customers, particularly in the public sector
* Being able to provide consolidated billing for BGE and WGL accounts
* Having a plan in place for managing security incidents and complying with relevant laws and regulations
