Description
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Veterans Affairs, is seeking bids for the EKVC-Elevator Modernization Project. The project involves furnishing and installing new elevator systems to replace the existing Elevator #1 and Elevator #2 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center. The new elevator system will be a hole-less hydraulic type with remote power units and controllers in an adjacent elevator equipment room. The contractor will be responsible for providing and installing a complete system that ties into the existing electric and fire alarm system and reuses hydraulic piping and electric conduits between the existing hoistway shaft and elevator equipment room.
• The project requires the demolition and removal of existing elevator cabs, power units, and controllers.
• The contractor must provide and install new elevator cabs with enameled steel, plastic laminate wall panels, stainless steel rails, illuminated ceiling, stainless steel cab doors, and stainless steel cab door frames.
• The contractor must also prep the new elevator cabs to receive new laminate flooring by a separate subcontractor.
• A site visit will be held on December 4, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. Eastern Time, and a virtual pre-bid will be held on the same day at the same time.
