Central Alabama Water is seeking proposals from qualified background screening firms to provide comprehensive, compliant, and timely background check services for all prospective employees, contractors, and existing employees in safety-sensitive positions. The selected vendor will be required to provide a range of services, including identity verification, criminal background screening, driving history, civil and professional checks, and healthcare-specific checks. The vendor must also demonstrate compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Key objectives include ensuring all new hires meet safety, trust, and compliance standards, strengthening risk management, and improving turnaround times and reporting accuracy. • The vendor must provide a secure online portal for ordering and tracking background checks. • The vendor must offer real-time status updates and a mobile-friendly applicant interface. • The vendor must provide customizable reporting and customer service availability during normal business hours. • The vendor must demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed service-level expectations, including identity verification results, national database searches, and customer support response times.
