Description
The City of Grand Rapids is seeking qualified contractors to reconstruct the Millbank Street corridor (Giddings Avenue to Newcastle Drive) and to install new water‑main and water‑service lines, along with associated drainage, traffic‑control, and landscaping improvements. The work includes full‑depth pavement removal, sub‑base installation, concrete sidewalk and curb work, water‑main (6‑in) and service (1‑in) installation, storm‑sewer pipe placement, utility coordination, and required environmental controls (erosion‑control, contaminated‑material handling). The contract will be awarded on a low‑bid basis, with a bid security of 5 % and performance/payment bonds required for contracts ≥ $50 k. Substantial completion must be achieved within 49 calendar days of construction start (no later than June 4 2027) and final completion by August 6 2027.
