Description
The City of Charleston is soliciting site work bids for a new playground at Brittlebank Park. The scope of work includes demolition of existing playground equipment and associated pathways, grading and drainage work, and concrete perimeter curb installation. The playground equipment vendor will be responsible for playground footings, equipment, and play surface. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The bid opening date is September 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
• The project requires a high level of coordination with the playground installer for construction sequence.
• The contractor must perform a minimum of 20% of the work with its own forces.
• The project is covered under the City of Charleston's Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program, with a goal of 20% SBE participation.
• The contractor must provide a "Drug-Free Workplace" as defined in Section 44-107-30 of the SC Code of Laws.
