The United States Naval Academy (USNA) is seeking information from potential contractors to replace aging fiber optic infrastructure connecting the USNA to the North Severn Side of the campus. The existing sub-river cables are over 30 years old and at risk of failure, and the USNA wants to establish a secondary connection to eliminate the single point of failure and improve reliability of service. The scope of work includes designing, planning, engineering, constructing, installing, connecting, and testing the ordered circuit(s), as well as providing and managing necessary labor and materials. The contractor must be able to provide a minimum of 216 strands of single-mode fiber to ensure continuous network connectivity.
• The project requires a robust, high-capacity connection to ensure continuous network connectivity.
• The contractor must apply for, obtain, and maintain any required rights and pay associated fees.
• The project must be completed by 30 September 2026.
• The place of performance is Baltimore Annapolis Blvd and Richie Highway (MD 450) at an existing hand hole to the end location on Bennion Road at Building #109.
