Description
Steuben County is seeking a fully-certified Code Enforcement Official to enforce the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and State Energy Conservation Construction Code in the Town of Addison, NY, the Town of Campbell, NY, and the Town of Tuscarora, NY. The successful applicant will work under a contract with Steuben County and will not be an employee of the county. The contract will be effective from the date of a fully executed contract through December 31, 2030.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Issuing building permits
• Monitoring construction of permitted projects
• Addressing code violations
• Record keeping
Applicants must supply a resume, current Code Enforcement Official certification documentation, a list of New York State approved in-service code training courses taken in the last three years, and an hourly pay rate.
Evaluation criteria will include qualifications and experience, references, scope of services provided, fee, and miscellaneous factors.
