The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is requesting quotations for the purchase of 24 gas monitors, specifically the Ultima X5000 Gas Monitor, for the detection of H2S gases. The monitors must meet specific requirements, including being compatible with the H2S gas monitors onboard the Coast Guard vessels. The brand name, product, or feature is essential to the Government’s requirements, and market research indicates that other companies’ similar products do not meet the agency’s needs. The gas monitors are standard throughout the 154’ FRC Coastal Patrol boat fleet, and any attempt to manufacture these gas monitors without the proper specifications, drawings, and technical data could jeopardize the safety of the vessel and crew.
• The gas monitors must be individually packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1E Method 10, cushioned, and packed in an appropriately sized ASTM-D5118 double-wall fiberboard box.
• The gas monitors must meet the packing, packaging, marking, and bar-coding requirements, and failure to meet these requirements will result in warehouse rejection and items will be shipped back to the vendor.
• The brand name part is mandatory to be considered for award, and offers of “equal” products must meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation.
• The delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination to USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21126, marked for: Receiving Room Bldg. 88.
