Shoulder Material Spreader

The Kansas Department of Transportation is seeking bids for a Shoulder Material Spreader. The contract will be for one year, with the option for additional purchases. The spreader must meet specific specifications, including being a hydraulic tailgate conveyor and having a hot-asphalt type belt. The contractor must provide a copy of the warranty and complete specifications and literature on the unit bid. • The spreader must be a current model, new and unused, under standard production by the manufacturer. • The unit shall be delivered completely and fully operational, with proper servicing and mechanical adjustments made prior to delivery. • The contractor must provide technical service, including instruction on the proper use, safety, operation, and preventive maintenance of the unit. • The contractor must provide printed manuals, including an operator's manual, shop manual, and parts manual. • The unit must be powder coated, with orange being the preferred color. • The contractor must provide a berm chute with leveling box that can be attached at either end of the conveyor. • The unit must have tail, turn, and brake lights, as well as trio cluster lights, as required by the Vehicle Laws of the State of Kansas.
