The Lake County Department of Social Services is requesting proposals from qualified agencies to provide individualized, in-home parenting education, coaching, and support services to families in need. The goal is to strengthen families by increasing protective factors, reducing risk factors, and empowering caregivers to prevent neglect and abuse before harm occurs. The services will be provided to families with children who are at risk of or have been victims of abuse, neglect, exposure to violence, and/or other risk factors. The contractor will be required to provide services such as teaching ages and stages of development, providing healthy discipline strategies, and offering emotional regulation and communication coaching. The contractor will also be required to measure progress in parenting skills using pre and post-evaluation tools and provide monthly written progress reports.
Some key points to consider:
• The contractor must have staff certified to provide evidenced-based parent education to referred families.
• The contractor must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
• The contractor must have a written grievance process for reviewing and attempting to resolve complaints.
• The contractor must maintain an inventory of all equipment purchased with contract funds and submit a copy of the inventory along with the June invoice or upon termination of the contract.
• The contractor must comply with the HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all personal, sensitive, and confidential information.
