The U.S. Department of State’s Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City announces an open competition to implement a program to combat cyber scams in Vietnam. The program aims to equip and deploy students and early-stage professionals aged 18-30 to raise awareness of, and reduce vulnerabilities to, cyber scams and trafficking. The program will include training on creative problem-solving, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, as well as a hackathon to develop practical, innovative, secure, and legally compliant solutions.
Key aspects of the program include:
• Raising awareness of cyber scams and trafficking among 5000 Vietnamese aged 18-30
• Boosting skills in problem-solving, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies among 200-400 Vietnamese aged 18-30
• Running hackathons to generate 50-100 prototype solutions targeting scam prevention, detection, public awareness, and victim protection
• Collaboration with U.S. Mission Vietnam’s American Spaces and other partners to implement the program.
