Description

The United Independent School District is seeking proposals from qualified child care providers to offer comprehensive, high-quality child care services for the infants and toddlers of enrolled District students under the Pregnancy, Education, and Parenting (PEP) Program. The care providers must be geographically located in areas near the four high schools. The target age range for this service is newborns (approximately 6 weeks old) through 3 years of age. Key program goals include providing safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for the children of PEP students, ensuring services are available and accessible during student-parent class times and required program activities, and fostering early childhood development and school readiness. • The contracted provider must deliver child care provision, facility and safety requirements, and reporting and communication services. • The provider must maintain required staff-to-child ratios, implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and provide a safe, clean, and stimulating environment. • The provider must also provide daily communication to student-parents, submit monthly attendance and activity reports, and participate in regular coordination meetings with District/PEP staff.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be between $200,000 and $500,000 per year, based on the assumption that the provider will serve a minimum of 20 children at a rate of $10,000 to $25,000 per child per year. This estimate takes into account the costs of providing high-quality child care services, including staff salaries, facilities, and materials. The actual budget may vary depending on the number of children served, the level of care provided, and the rates negotiated with the District.
