Nestor Pavement Repair - Sinkhole

The Nestor Sinkhole Repair project at 130 Nestor Street is designed to restore structural integrity and operational reliability of the facility access area affected by pavement and subgrade failure. The work will be executed in phased sectional repairs to ensure that site operations remain active throughout construction. The scope of work includes mobilization and traffic control, sectional demolition and excavation, subgrade stabilization, aggregate and base placement, concrete pavement installation, drainage and utility adjustments, erosion control, and final pavement markings. The estimated project cost is $909,000, inclusive of materials, equipment, labor, and a 20% contingency for unforeseen conditions. • The project requires a detailed phasing plan to maintain continuous access to WeGo's operational areas. • The contractor must demonstrate experience in completing similar pavement or subgrade stabilization projects. • The project includes a nondiscrimination policy and requires compliance with federal and state regulations. • The contractor must provide a site-specific safety plan and conduct daily coordination meetings with the WeGo Project Manager. • The project requires the use of geogrid reinforcement and geotextile stabilization to strengthen the base and prevent recurrence of settlement. • The contractor must comply with the prompt payment and non-retention requirements of 49 C.F.R. § 26.29. • The project includes a veterans' hiring preference and requires the contractor to give a hiring preference to veterans who have the requisite skills and abilities to perform the construction work required under the contract.
