The National Park Service is seeking expressions of interest for a business opportunity within Voyageurs National Park. The opportunity involves the use of several facilities in the Kettle Falls area, including the Kettle Falls Hotel, villas, camper cabins, and other associated buildings. The NPS is looking for concepts and ideas for adaptive reuse of the buildings or changes in the overnight accommodations and food and beverage services. The selected operator will be required to comply with all provisions of Executive Order 14026 and 13706, and maintain the facilities in good to very good condition.
Some key points to consider:
• The Kettle Falls Hotel has 12 guest rooms and 3 shared bathrooms, as well as a full-service restaurant and bar.
• The villas have 4-plex rental units with kitchenettes, and there are also camper cabins with electricity but no running water.
• The NPS provides floating docks that can accommodate 25-30 small boats on Rainy Lake and 20-24 small boats on Namakan Lake.
• The operator will be required to provide round-trip boat transportation for hotel guests and maintain the facilities in good to very good condition.
• The term length will be determined by the NPS, with a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 60 years.
