The U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires Public Affairs Section is accepting proposals for its Public Diplomacy Grants Program, which aims to strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Argentina. The program will support projects that promote U.S.-Argentina shared values, strengthen prosperity, and reinforce democracy, freedom, and transparency. Priority areas include promoting the teaching or learning of American English, strengthening ties and increasing mutual understanding between people in the United States and Argentina, and supporting educational exchange and partnership, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematic (STEM) among Argentine youth.
Examples of prior projects include U.S. experts conducting speaking tours, joint U.S.-Argentina conferences, programs that expand PAS American Spaces activities, and projects showcasing U.S. models or curricula.
The program will accept proposals from Argentine academic, cultural, educational, and other non-profit organizations and/or individuals. Proposals should clearly address the goals and objectives of this funding opportunity, be in English, and have a budget expressed in U.S. Dollars.
Some activities that are not typically approved include investments that primarily benefit only one or a few businesses or individuals, scholarships for the study of English, conference attendance or study tours to the United States, and proposals that are inherently political in nature or contain the appearance of partisanship/support or electoral campaigns.
