Boronda Road Congestion Relief Phase 2 Project; CIP 9510

The City of Salinas is seeking a qualified consultant for Professional Engineering design services for the design of Boronda Road Congestion Relief Project – Phase 2 (CIP 9510). The project includes widening and intersection improvements of approximately 1.1 miles of East Boronda Road, including new multi-lane roundabouts, storm water treatment facilities, shared-use paths, bike lanes, and other improvements. The selected consultant will provide design and engineering services for two standalone projects, phases 2A and 2B. The consultant will be responsible for project management, preliminary engineering studies, surveys and mapping, utility coordination, right of way determination, design, and public information and outreach. * Key aspects of the project include: * Widening and intersection improvements of East Boronda Road * Design of storm water treatment facilities and bioretention facilities * Shared-use paths, bike lanes, and bus pullouts * Street lighting, sidewalks, and ADA pedestrian access ramps * Storm drain system, sanitary sewer mainline extension, and pavement delineation * Landscaping and utility coordination * Public information and outreach, including community meetings and social media postings
