Salvage & Disposal F/V Julie Ann

The City and Borough of Juneau is seeking a qualified salvage company to provide salvage services, pollution control, and disposal of a 58-foot seine vessel sunk in approximately 16 feet of water in Aurora Harbor. The contract requires the contractor to float and remove the vessel from the CBJ Harbor system, and upon successfully salvaging the vessel, the hull and all appurtenances will become the property of the contractor to dispose of. The contractor must demonstrate experience in vessel salvage operations, and the lead supervisor must have a minimum of three vessel salvage projects conducting similar work within the past five years. • The contractor must provide a detailed work plan, including a proposed work schedule, method of salvaging, and a description of the equipment and tools to be used. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances relating to the performance of this work. • The contractor must provide certification of proper insurance coverage, including commercial general liability insurance, marine protection and indemnity, workers' compensation insurance, and comprehensive automobile liability insurance. • The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder for the total of the base bid items.
