RFQ NO. 26-10 Autumn Road Culvert Replacement

The City of Huntsville is seeking qualified engineering firms to develop design plans and specifications for a drainage improvement project at 3391 Autumn Road (Spring Lake Water Plant). The project involves replacing an existing 75-inch diameter railroad tank car culvert with a properly sized concrete box culvert to mitigate flooding and erosion issues in the area. The selected firm will be expected to perform all tasks necessary to produce biddable construction plans and specifications for the culvert replacement and to assist the City in meeting all GLO grant requirements. • The firm will conduct a review of existing data and perform field surveys as needed to assess current conditions. • The firm will prepare engineering drawings and specifications for the culvert replacement and channel de-silting. • The firm will support the City and grant administrator in preparing documentation for environmental review and permitting. • The firm will provide draft and final design packages including plans, specifications, and cost estimates. • The firm will assist with bid-phase services such as preparing bid documents, attending pre-bid meetings, and responding to contractor inquiries. • The firm will provide limited construction-phase services if requested. The City is looking for a firm with experience in similar projects, technical capabilities, and familiarity with applicable standards or grant programs. The firm should have a strong project team with the necessary qualifications and experience to deliver the project within the required timeframe.
