Description

The Department of Public Safety's Crime Lab Division is seeking an investigation laser system to detect latent fingerprints and other evidence. The system must meet specific requirements, including a minimum wavelength of 445nm and 532nm, uniform speckle-free illumination, and a minimum output power of 8W. The contract term is one year, and the contractor must provide a transition plan if the contract is not renewed. The contractor must also comply with all state HUB requirements and submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan. Key features of the required system include: • Minimum Wavelength: 445nm and 532nm (Selectable) • Minimum Beam Quality: Uniform speckle free illumination • Minimum Output Power: 8W @ 445nm; 8W @ 532 • Minimum Touch screen to control output power 1W – 8W • Automatic wavelength detection • ‘Dead man finger’ (i.e. Press for output / release no output) • Minimum 1 meter (additional option for 2 meter) light guide • Minimum Mains Voltage: 90-240V AC • Minimum Frequency: 50 Hz / 60 Hz • Power Consumption: 70W Maximum; 60W Typical • Minimum Input Voltage: 12.6 VDC (Integral battery pack) • Battery Lifetime: Approx 20 Hours typical use @ 445nm, Approx 2 hours continuous @532nm • Minimum Lifetime: >10,000 hours • Minimum Charging time: Less than 5 hours • Minimum Ambient temperature Range: 41-104oF (5-40oC) • Minimum Humidity: 8-85%, non-condensing • Minimum Dimensions: Not to exceed 10" (L) x 6" (W) x 10" (H) • Maximum Weight: Less than 6lbs The contractor must also provide a KIT that includes: • 445nm/532nm Pistol Grip Laser attachment • Protective Carrying Case with Wheels • 4 Pair Goggles (2 pair Yellow for 445nm / 2 pair Orange for 532nm) • 62mm Camera Filters (Yellow for 445nm / Orange for 532nm) • Battery Charger • Instruction Manual • 1 Year Warranty

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

Based on the provided information, it is difficult to estimate the exact budget for this contract. However, considering the scope of the project and the requirements for the investigation laser system, a rough estimate for the contract value could be between $50,000 and $200,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the contractor will need to provide a high-quality laser system that meets the specified requirements, as well as provide training and support for the system. The actual budget may vary depending on the specific needs of the Department of Public Safety and the contractor's pricing. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the system, the number of units required, and the level of competition among bidders.
