Description

The City of New Rochelle is soliciting proposals for a firm to evaluate and enter into an Energy Performance Contract to plan, install, and maintain a solar canopy at the ITC Garage. The selected respondent will be responsible for the system's design, equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, warranty, and maintenance services. The city aims to maximize the system's output while minimizing costs. The project will reduce the city's greenhouse gas emissions and utility costs. • The system will be a fully interconnected, operational solar PV canopy system. • The city will purchase all necessary equipment via the selected respondent. • The respondent will be responsible for utility coordination, including interconnection and metering. • The system will have a minimum 10-year warranty on PV equipment, 5-year Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and a 5-year production guarantee (PeGu). • The city anticipates using the VDER (Value of Distributed Energy Resources) tariff or Net Energy Metering (NEM), whichever is recommended under the system proposed.

Budget estimate

$1,500,000 – $3,500,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the cost of similar solar canopy systems. The cost of a solar canopy system can range from $2 to $5 per watt, depending on the size and complexity of the system. Assuming an average cost of $3.50 per watt, and considering the city's goal of maximizing the system's output, a rough estimate for the total cost of the project could be around $1.5 million to $3.5 million. This estimate may vary depending on various factors, including the system's size, equipment, and installation costs.
