NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE-KY7A LOAD TAP CHANGER RETROFIT SERVCIES

The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) intends to issue a sole source award to Reinhausen Manufacturing, Inc. for the KY7A load tap changer retrofit services at the Headgate Rock Substation in Parker, AZ. The scope of services includes mobilizing a crew and equipment, performing pre-job briefs, staging equipment, and retrofitting a new load tap changer to the transformer. The contractor will also perform various tests, including Doble power factor, TTR, winding resistance, and insulation resistance, as well as oil analysis and dew point tests. The resulting procurement will be conducted in accordance with RFO FAR Part 12. Some key points to consider are: • The contractor must have experience with load tap changer retrofits and must be able to provide the required parts and services. • The contractor will be responsible for mobilizing a crew and equipment to the substation. • The contractor will perform various tests and inspections to ensure the quality of the work. • The contractor will be required to provide a report, test results, and as-built drawings. • The contractor will be responsible for cleaning up the area and preparing for demobilization.
