Professional Counseling Services

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified contractor to provide comprehensive, confidential professional counseling services for sworn and professional personnel. The contractor will deliver responsive, culturally competent mental health services that support employee wellness, resilience, and operational readiness. Services must include short-term counseling, crisis and critical incident response, on-site and virtual clinical availability, departmental training on mental health and wellness topics, and participation in outreach efforts. The contractor must maintain strict confidentiality while coordinating administrative authorization processes for additional sessions and family services without compromising clinician–client privilege. • The contractor will provide on-site clinical support following a critical incident, as needed. • The contractor will provide departmental training on subjects related to mental health and wellness. • The contractor will participate in department and family outreach events. • The contractor will provide up to 6 hours of counseling sessions per employee, with additional sessions provided with administrative authorization. • The contractor will maintain strict confidentiality and coordinate administrative authorization processes for additional sessions and family services without compromising clinician–client privilege.
