Description

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking feedback, information, and recommendations on approaches for the possible implementation of safe, effective, efficient, scalable, and sustainable large-scale food fortification (LSFF) programming to improve the micronutrient intake of vulnerable populations. The goal is to support data-driven and context-specific solutions to safely and sustainably improve nutrient adequacy and diets for the most vulnerable through LSFF. The future activity will be funded for a period of five years, with an estimated budget ranging from $20 to $40 million. Some key points to consider include: • The importance of micronutrient intake for human health and development • The challenges faced by governments and the private sector in scaling and sustaining LSFF programs • The need for a whole-of-business approach to improve LSFF programming in differing contexts • The role of USAID in leading efforts for LSFF through global leadership, context-specific expertise, and partnerships with governments, the private sector, and civil society • The need for innovative approaches to LSFF that support data-driven and context-specific solutions • The importance of local ownership and leadership in attaining and promoting LSFF

Budget estimate

$20,000,000 – $40,000,000

Based on the document, the estimated budget for the future activity is ranging from $20 to $40 million over a period of five years. This suggests that the total budget for the project could be within this range, depending on the specific requirements and scope of work. The budget is likely to be influenced by factors such as the scale and complexity of the LSFF programming, the number of vulnerable populations being targeted, and the level of partnership and collaboration with governments, the private sector, and civil society.
