PHDC Pilot Deconstruction Program

The Pittsburgh Housing Development Corporation (PHDC) is seeking bids for the deconstruction of a 2.5-story residential building located at 247 Kennedy Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15214. The project includes environmental testing, hazardous material remediation, salvage and recycling of materials, utility disconnections, structural deconstruction, debris removal, and restoration of the lot. The contractor will be required to provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, supervision, and services necessary to complete the project. The project aims to divert materials from waste streams and repurpose them in coordination with a salvage/re-use entity. • The structure is a 2.5-story residential building with a basement and an interior living area of approximately 2107 square feet. • The contractor shall prioritize deconstruction and salvage of reusable building materials throughout the demolition process. • The contractor shall attempt to maximize recycling and diversion from landfill to the greatest extent possible. • The contractor shall provide a site-specific health and safety plan and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • The contractor shall obtain all required permits and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the specifications outlined in the demolition permit.
