Description

The "Windows on the Universe" Multi-Messenger Astrophysics (WoU-MMA) program aims to build capabilities and accelerate synergy between observations and theory to realize integrated, multi-messenger astrophysical explorations of the Universe. The program welcomes proposals in any area of research supported through participating divisions that address at least one of the following criteria: coordination of observations involving more than one messenger, observations of astrophysical objects or phenomena that are potentially sources of more than one messenger, and theory, experiment, simulations, and other activities to understand or interpret observations of astrophysical objects that are sources of more than one messenger. Some key points about this opportunity include: * The program is not intended to replace existing programs that make awards related to each of the three messengers. * Priority will be given to proposals for dedicated efforts that significantly advance the WoU-MMA goals. * Proposals should be submitted to the relevant programs listed below (see Related Programs). * Supplement requests to existing awards within a program that address one of the above criteria will also be considered.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific award amount. However, considering the nature of the grant and the goals of the WoU-MMA program, it is likely that the award amount will be substantial, potentially in the range of hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. The actual budget will depend on various factors, including the scope of the proposed research, the qualifications of the applicant, and the availability of funds.
