Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) announces the release of its annual NASA Research Announcement (NRA), Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) – 2019. ROSES is an omnibus NRA, with many individual program elements, each with its own due dates and topics. The typical period of performance for an award is three years, but some programs may allow up to five years and others specify shorter periods. • Awards will be made as grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and inter- or intra-agency transfers, depending on the nature of the work proposed, the proposing organization, and/or program requirements. • Organizations of every type, domestic and foreign, Government and private, for profit and not-for-profit, may submit proposals without restriction on teaming arrangements. • Note that it is NASA policy that all research involving non-U.S. organizations will be conducted on the basis of no exchange of funds.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not specify a particular award amount. However, considering the nature of the research and the fact that NASA provides funding for these types of projects, a possible estimate could be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million, depending on the scope and complexity of the proposed research. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the type of award (grant, cooperative agreement, or contract), the duration of the project, and the number of proposals selected for funding.
