Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to replace boilers at the Durham VA Health Care System in Durham, NC. The project involves replacing three boilers with fire tube boilers at 600 HP, with dual fuel burners and economizers. The contractor will provide professional construction services as shown in the drawings and specifications. The estimated construction magnitude is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The period of performance is 547 days.
• The new boilers will provide 22,500 pounds per hour of 80 PSIG steam to the site to meet the 45,000 pounds per hour steam flow requirement.
• The fuel oil requires a propane tank and air compressor for ignition and atomizing the fuel oil, respectively.
