Description
The State of Colorado is seeking a qualified vendor to provide a comprehensive refurbishment of the East cooling tower located at the Power Plant, 1341 Sherman St, Denver Colorado. The project includes all necessary equipment, materials, and labor, ensuring the system is fully operational upon completion. The vendor shall coordinate scheduling with the State Mechanical Shop Manager and schedule work for the cooling tower during the specified period. The vendor shall also remove existing fill media and associated brackets and/or hangers, remove existing hot water basin distribution panel and nozzles, clean, prepare, and grind cold water basins, side walls and hot water basins, and apply patch steel as needed.
• Remove existing fill media and associated brackets and/or hangers
• Remove existing hot water basin distribution panel and nozzles
• Clean, prepare, and grind cold water basins, side walls and hot water basins
• Apply patch steel as needed
• Install cooling tower grade liner to prepped surfaces
• Install new nozzles and new/refurbished distribution panels
• Install new bottom supported pack fill media and supports
• Service both tower fans, draining oil from gearbox and cleaning gearbox
• Install new OEM pinion seals and cage caps
• Add ISO synthetic gear oil to manufacturer specification type and level
• Realign and adjust motor, check fan blade pitch and adjust if necessary
• Perform a thorough cleanup of the site, removing all leftover materials, tools, and debris
• Remove all LO-TO devices, restore water service to cooling tower and fill basin
• Seals and seams and basins shall be inspected for leaks and repaired if found and fan motors will be tested thoroughly, ramping speeds up and down and oil level checked after fan motors have run for thirty minutes
• Review with the State Mechanical Shop manager all work that has been completed and provide appropriate O/M and SDS provided by the manufacturer
