The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to Northern Arizona University for the development of an online launch calendar. The project aims to create a software model that allows for safely managed emergencies, split trips, and accurate tracking of river usage statistics. The recipient will be responsible for providing overall coordination and management of the project, as well as providing project management, programmer personnel, and training required to prepare student programmers. The NPS will be substantially involved in the project, providing direction and guidance as necessary. The project will support the development of a new version of the online launch calendar, which will help the NPS better manage its natural resources.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Development of a software model for managing emergencies and tracking river usage statistics
• Creation of a new version of the online launch calendar
• Provision of project management and programmer personnel
• Collaboration between the recipient and the NPS to ensure cohesive integration with other website development work
• Review of changes and provision of direction as necessary to ensure successful completion of the project
