The US Air Force is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of providing granular activated carbon renewal study services. The objective is to determine the technical feasibility of a granular activated carbon renewal process for spent PFAS treatment media. The scope of work includes a bench-scale feasibility approach, review of government-furnished water quality and operational data, receipt and handling of spent and unused GAC samples, bench-scale renewal testing, PFAS analytical testing, and screening-level feasibility conclusions. The deliverables include a technical memorandum and a virtual briefing to present results and answer government questions.
• The project duration is approximately 30 calendar days after receipt of government-furnished samples.
• The government anticipates providing spent GAC sample(s), unused GAC sample(s), available water quality data, and general operating information relevant to treatment systems.
• Offerors should submit concise proposals describing their technical approach, relevant experience, schedule, key personnel, assumptions, and price.
• The government is interested in evaluating whether an alternate GAC renewal technology may provide a technically viable option for future use, particularly considering logistical constraints, cold weather operating conditions, and existing GAC system vessel compatibility.
