The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (SCDJJ) is seeking to acquire continued support and maintenance for its electronic health record (EHR) system, Medicat. The system is used to manage youth medical, dental, and behavioral health records, and ongoing vendor support is critical to ensure system reliability, security, and full functionality. The SCDJJ is currently exploring the option of procuring a new EHR system through a competitive Request for Proposals process, but this process will take significant time to complete. Therefore, the SCDJJ must maintain the stability and full functionality of its existing Medicat system during the transition period.
• The Medicat system is fully proprietary, and all system support, maintenance, licensing, updates, and specialized functionality are developed, controlled, and delivered exclusively by Medicat.
• The SCDJJ requires continued support and maintenance for the Medicat system to ensure uninterrupted access to essential health records and delivery of care.
• The vendor will provide ongoing support, maintenance, and technical services for the Medicat EHR system, including system updates, security patches, troubleshooting, technical assistance, performance monitoring, and resolution of software issues.
• The vendor will also provide access to Medicat's customer support team, ensure system reliability, and deliver any required enhancements to maintain compliance with healthcare and data security standards.
