Softball Field Turf Replacement and Related Improvements at Science Park HS Addendum No. 1

The Newark Board of Education is seeking a contractor to replace the synthetic turf at the softball field of Science Park High School and perform related site improvements. The scope includes removal of existing turf, sub‑base preparation, new turf installation, installation of a perimeter curb, replacement of a 6‑ft chain‑link fence with a fence topper, provision of steel columns and base plates for a new scoreboard (including painting), installation of storm‑drain flat pipe, re‑routing of a 1‑in water line, and allowances for a back‑stop, netting, and an optional sound system. The contractor must complete the work within 90 working days after receipt of the notice to proceed. • Remove and dispose of existing turf (≈ 1 ft depth) on a capped, contaminated site. • Install new sub‑base, synthetic turf, perimeter curb, chain‑link fence (6 ft) with topper, and steel‑column scoreboard supports. • Provide storm‑drain flat pipe, re‑route water service, and allowances for back‑stop, netting, and optional sound system; no price for allowances is to be included in the bid.
