Development of the Quantitative Elemental Reconnaissance Instrument (QuERI)

The NASA/NSSC is seeking the development of the Quantitative Elemental Reconnaissance Instrument (QuERI). The contractor will be responsible for designing electronics for a two-channel SDD system for spectroscopy and timing, integrating an FPGA in place of the microcontroller, and ensuring the electronic architecture interfaces and/or controls other system components. The contractor will also participate in the preparation of interface control documents, develop electronic architecture and detailed schematics, provide netlists and bill of materials, test and characterize the fabricated electronics, and prepare detailed engineering documentation. The key responsibilities of the contractor include: • Translation of science requirements to engineering requirements • Participate in the preparation of interface control documents • Develop electronic architecture and detailed schematics • Provide netlists and bill of materials for layout and fabrication and consult on these activities • Test and characterize the fabricated electronics • Make revisions to the design as required by the test results • Prepare detailed engineering documentation • Prepare reports and participate in team meetings
